DESCRIPTION: American Waltham Watch Co, Waltham, Mass., model 1889, 6 size, 11- 15 jewels, stem wind and lever set, frosted, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, in a 14 karat, yellow gold, reeded edge, engraved hunting case, with presentation on gold cuvette, and Roman numeral, single sunk white enamel dial, blued steel spade hands, serial #3070899, 57.2g TW, c1890.
CONDITION: CASE: A few shallow dents, front and back; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Very fine scratches on inner surface of case; Cover extends beyond 90 degrees when opened, front, 95 deg.; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Minor hairlines, 4:00; Minor scratch. HANDS: Minor oxide, minute and seconds. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Regulator with a few specks of oxide; Case screw with oxidation; Balance spring stud with spot of oxide. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks), low amplitude, needs service.
